What does remove PDF password do?
If you know the password for a protected PDF, this tool opens the file locally in your browser and saves a new, unencrypted copy that no longer asks for a password. This is useful when a bank sends statements as password-protected PDFs and you want to combine several months into one file with our merge tool, or when a scanned contract arrived locked and you need to rotate, crop, or extract pages from it first. HR departments unlock payslip PDFs they issued themselves before archiving them internally. It does not crack, guess, or remove passwords you do not already know; it simply re-saves the file once you have unlocked it with the correct password.
Can you unlock a PDF without the password?
No. You must enter the password that was used to protect the file. This tool is for documents you created or received the password for, such as bank statements or signed contracts.
Is it legal to remove a PDF password?

Is my password sent to your servers?
